Sandy Hazel began her history with MedPOINT Management over 23 years ago initially as part of the contracting team eventually transferring to the Medical Affairs Department, where she remains today as department Vice President.

Ms. Hazel’s medical experience began as a RN working in Intensive Care Units at LA County-USC Medical Center. Ms. Hazel then relocated to a private hospital where she moved through the ranks as ICU/CCU Supervisor, Maternity Manager and Director of Nursing. After a brief stint building her business acumen owning an auto lot, she combined her business and clinical talents to become the CEO/Hospital Administrator.

In her capacity as CEO, Ms. Hazel worked closely with MedPOINT as they served as the hospital’s MSO. Recognizing that her vast medical industry experience made her a cross-departmental expert on healthcare, regulatory, and administrative minutiae, MedPOINT eventually recruited her to join their leadership team.

In her current capacity as VP, Medical Affairs, Ms. Hazel leads the Case Management, Outpatient, and Inpatient Teams. Together, they keep a close watch on utilization management for MedPOINT’s affiliated providers, helping to ensure that they stay within regulatory compliance and maintain high standards of quality care.

Ms. Hazel holds an Associate of Arts in Nursing from LA County School of Nursing/East LA College and a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management from the University of Redlands in California.
