Third Party Recovery Analyst

Summary

Responsible for collaborating with Manager & Supervisor of the Auditing & Recoveries department. This candidate will be responsible for Third Party Liability (TPL) recovery. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for Unclaimed Property search & recovery for our client’s.  This candidate must produce accuracy and integrity of the tracking related to TPL’s & Unclaimed Property. Ensures interpretation and compliance with the appropriate HIPAA regulations, statutes, & laws while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the California Unclaimed Property website and Third-Party Liability (TPL) process. Prepares Third Party Liability (TPL) questionnaire packets to be sent directly to the Members, lien calculations to be sent directly to the member’s Attorney & claim submissions to recover our Client’s Unclaimed Property. Works under the Manager of the Finance Auditing & Recoveries unit.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run reports for TPL recoveries monthly
  • Work with attorneys to recover on TPL cases
  • Identify potential unclaimed property for our client’s
  • Submit necessary appeal & documentation to recover unclaimed property

Minimum Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years’ experience with medical billing or claims examining.


Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical coding, billing and the regulations and guidelines associated with it.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and prepare reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs; primarily Word, Excel and Access or higher.
  • EZ-CAP® knowledge a plus.
